Chapter Fifteen

Dinero and Case browsed through Southridge Mall in search of the new Jordan’s that had just come out. They were relatively close since they were the youngest of the DeMao bunch. Dinero was still hot with his other brother’s because he felt left out of the business. Even though Kiyan and Big had nothing to do with it, he felt that they were in on the plan as well.

“Man, I thought you said your connect was gon’ come through,” Case said, walking next to Dinero.

“Man, that nigga got knocked a couple days ago. He can’t even come through on some bail money,” Dinero joked.

Case laughed. “That’s fucked up. I bet these mothafuckas sold out, though.”

“Nah. My lil homie put two pairs aside for me. I just gotta pay him an extra hundred, plus some free car washes,” Dinero told him.

Both men walked into Champs in search of Dinero’s Jordan connect. Once the connect saw Dinero, he instantly rushed to the back to retrieve the shoes. Dinero joined Case on the bench and scrolled through his phone.

“So you still not fucking with Keece after he said that shit to you?” Case asked him.

Dinero scoffed. “Man, right now fuck him. He acts like he ain’t never fucked up before and that he’s so fucking perfect. Then Kiyan and Big didn’t even come to my defense. So that tells me that they feel the same way that Keece feels. Fuck them!” he ranted.

Case looked at him, not liking the way he was speaking about their brothers. “All you gotta do is redeem yourself and show them that you can handle business just like them. Shit, take on more responsibility if you need to, because you contributed to the success of the business too.”

Dinero nodded. “Thanks, bro. I needed that for real.

Minutes later, they heard a familiar voice call out to them.

“Hey y’all,” Riley sang, walking over to where they were seated.

Dinero mean mugged her as she stood there with her hands on her hips. He had never liked Riley, and he’d always been vocal about it. To him, she was nothing but a gold digger and a snake. He was happy that Keece had finally let her scandalous ass go.

“What’s up, Riley?” Case greeted her.

Riley shifted her weight to one leg as she looked down at Dinero. “Dinero, you can’t speak? I see you're still rude as fuck,” she spat.

Dinero snorted, “You know I don’t fuck with you like that. Don’t come up in here acting brand new.”

“Anyway, what are y’all doing here? Y’all trying to grab the new J’s?” she asked, trying to open them up to ask about Keece.

Case simply nodded his head while Dinero looked the other way. There was no way he was going to hold a conversation with Riley.

“So how’s your brother?” she asked timidly.

Dinero snickered. “Who Kiyan?” he joked, causing Case to laugh.

Riley smacked her lips, not amused by Dinero’s antics. “No, smart ass. You know who I'm talking about. How is he doing, Case?”

“He’s cool.” Case smirked.
